The bid from USA, Canada and Mexico has beaten Morocco to host the 2026 World Cup. It was a massive victory with 134 in favour while 65 chose the African nation.

Delegates at the Fifa Congress in Moscow voted for the joint bid on Wednesday on the eve of the first game of the 2018 edition. Morocco had high hopes of overcoming the North American bid, with recent spats between leaders Donald Trump (USA) and Justin Trudeau (Canada), however this was not to be.
Reports have stated that Trump has been lobbying in the background, with letters being sent to Fifa officials, including the head of football's governing body, Gianni Infantino.
The stadia that will be used were put forward as part of a strong push from the triple-bid candidate, where much of the required infrastructure is already in place.
